Happy Monday, everyone! We had a gorgeous weekend up here in Vermont, and Alpha Reader was very disappointed that the only day game he got to listen to was the Yankees. Boo! There should be more baseball games played during the day.
That discussion put me in the mood for a song from the Baseball Project, a group I apparently haven’t done on Monday Morning Music before.
The Baseball Project, as I’m sure some of you know, is a supergroup consisting of Peter Buck, Mike Mills, Scott McCaughey, Steve Wynn, and Linda Pitmon. They originally got together over their love of baseball in 2007 and have since released four albums, covering all manner of baseballiana. Much fun! This track, “All Future And No Past,” is from their 2010 cd The Broadside Ballads and talks about the shining optimism that is every spring.
(We won’t discuss the one Orioles frame they chose to include. Steve Wynn’s a Yankee fan. Enough said.)
